Mariland Louise Campbell Davis Jenkins
November 29th, 1935 - November 4th, 2025
Mariland Louise Campbell Davis Jenkins, 89, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 29, 1935, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Frank Jackson Campbell and Gladys Rachael McKinnon Campbell. The youngest of four and the only daughter, Mariland faced early loss with great strength, losing two brothers in World War II and both parents by the age of sixteen.
After graduating from Pocatello High School, Mariland proudly served in the United States Army. Following her service, she attended business school and became a secretary in a law office, where she joined the Business and Professional Women’s Organization.
Through life’s turns, she married and became the devoted mother of Richard and Rachel.
In Tooele, Utah, she met Richard “Dick” Harmon Davis, with whom she shared a deep love and welcomed children Les, Cheryl, and Cindy. After Dick’s untimely passing, Mariland’s resilience carried her forward. In 1970, she met Huston D. Jenkins, a widower with nine children. They married in 1972, blending their families and sharing 43 years together until Huston’s passing in 2015.
Mariland loved traveling, gardening, painting, square dancing, bowling, and spending time with her large family. She was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Sam’s Club “Rolling Russets” out of Idaho Falls. Known as the matriarch of her family, she was cherished for her love, humor, and strength.
She is survived by her children and stepchildren: Les (Fa’aleo) Davis, Richard H. Davis II, Rachel (Bob) Gumbel, Cheryl (Mike) Mings, Kjell (Gail) Jenkins, Anita (Don) Davis, Neil (KayDawn) Jenkins, Gina (Roger) Tims, Tamara Stauffer, Judilyn Gonzales, and Huston Dee Jenkins; nephews Donald Gary Campbell and Jeff Campbell; nearly 100 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Frank Jr. Campbell, Jimmy Campbell and Donald Campbell, husbands Richard H. Davis and Huston D. Jenkins, daughter Cindy Rose Davis Harris, stepchildren Kevin Jenkins and Elaine Marley, and sister, Helene Goodenough.
The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Evergreen Assisted Living, Heritage Hospice Care, and Adele Moore for their loving care and compassion.
