Ricky K. Nii, also known as “Bubba,” passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at his home in Grant, Idaho, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on December 15, 1961, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Doris Ann Case and Koichi Nii. Rick grew up in the St. Anthony and Idaho Falls areas, attending South Fremont and Bonneville High School. He carried a zest for life that was as big as his laugh and as genuine as his heart.

Rick made his living driving truck for Landon Livestock finding freedom and peace behind the wheel. He lived for the great outdoors-hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and baseball, were among his greatest joys. Known as the funniest man on the planet, Bubba’s quick wit, infectious laugh, and larger-than-life personality brought light to every room he entered. He will be remembered for his humor, his honesty, and his ability to make everyone feel like family.

He is survived by his two children, Taylyn Nii and Ryan Nii; his sisters, Sandy (Richard) Nii Landon and Brandi (Lance) Kerbs; and his nieces and nephews, who adored their Uncle Rick. He recently reconnected with the love of his life, Ginger Gould who will also miss everything about him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Koichi Nii; his mother, Doris “Doddie” Case Kerbs; and his brother, Randy Nii.

Rick was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, and best friend – and not necessarily in that order.

As per Rick’s wishes, he will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
