Luis Martinez passed away on December 18, 2025. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed by all who knew him.

Luis possessed a rare, magnetic spirit. He never met a stranger; he only met friends he hadn’t talked to yet. With a bright, contagious smile that could light up any room, he had a way of making everyone feel seen, welcome, and loved. He was a man who chased adventure, always looking for the next memory to make.

Luis is survived by his parents, Ernestina Medina, Nicolas Martinez Jimenez, and Rigoberto Medina; his brother and sister-in-law, Nicolas Martinez-Ramirez and Mikayla Martinez, and their children, including two nephews and a niece; his beloved children, Liberty, Daiven, Talia, Adan, Ryder and Onyx; as well as his fiancée, Sammy.

His son, Daiven, shared a piece of his father’s humble heart in the words Luis used to tell him: “You don’t want to grow up and be like me. Go take chances, reach for the stars, and do something you love.” While Luis spoke those words with humility, the truth is that he was the best man we knew. He was a father, a best friend, and a steady force in our lives. His heart and his laughter were the glue of this family, and he leaves a void that can never be filled because there simply wasn’t anyone else like him.

Above all else, Luis was a hard working and loving father. He worked tirelessly, pouring his heart and soul into providing his children with every opportunity he never had growing up. Every sacrifice he made was for them, and his unwavering dedication showed just how deeply he loved and cherished his family. His children were his greatest pride, and some of his happiest moments were spent simply being with them—watching football together, fishing, floating the river, laughing, and soaking in the beauty of nature alongside the ones he loved most.

Luis was deeply devoted to his career and took immense pride in his work in paving. He was known for his strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to doing things right. The job was more than just work to him—it was where he found purpose, fulfillment, and lifelong friendships. Through paving, Luis built not only roads but unbreakable bonds, forming friendships that became family. He loved working alongside his crew, sharing long days, hard work, laughter, and loyalty, and he valued those relationships deeply

Luis will live on through the roads he paved, the children who were the very center of his world, and the love he poured into every moment of his life. He lives on in the stories we will tell forever and in the silence that now echoes where his laughter once was. Though we must learn to walk without him here, he will never be gone; his love goes with us, guiding every step, forever his laughter and smile etched into our hearts

A memorial service will be held January 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Buck-Murphy Funeral Home. Family will greet friends an hour before the service.
