A Feel Good Friday surprise for a woman who helps students, families, and at-risk kids
Published atEastIdahoNews.com is partnering with Ashley and Ashley Outlet of Idaho Falls to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.
This Feel Good Friday, we traveled to Driggs to surprise a woman who has quietly become a lifeline for countless families.
Evelyn Paz Garcia, the Community Coordinator at Teton High School, is known across campus for her warmth, persistence, and unwavering dedication. Whether she’s helping students earn the credits they need to graduate or guiding them through the world of college applications, Evelyn is the person everyone turns to.
But her influence extends far beyond the school walls.
Evelyn volunteers with the Family Safety Network, where she helps ensure vulnerable families get the support they need. She spends countless hours connecting with mothers, meeting with parents off-site, and checking in to make sure their children are safe, cared for, and thriving.
Through the ABC Program (Above and Beyond the Classroom), she works with at-risk students after school and throughout the summer, showing up for them in ways that change lives.
This Christmas, Evelyn coordinated efforts to make sure families across the community had warm holiday meals, bringing comfort and joy to homes that needed it most.
We decided to surprise Evelyn for Feel Good Friday. Check out the video in the player above!
