Will Pocatello soon ‘Eat Mor Chikin’? Rumors swirl about Chick-fil-A

POCATELLO — Rumors of a second eastern Idaho location for a well-known chicken franchise are spreading and many are wondering if Chick-fil-A will really be opening a free-standing restaurant in Pocatello.
Earlier this week, the Idaho State Journal reported Chick-fil-A has plans to build on the southern side of the Quinn Road and Hurley Drive intersection, near the entrance to the former Naval Ordnance Plant, which is now the Titan Center.
A spokesperson for Chick-fil-A tells EastIdahoNews.com the chain can not confirm the report.
“We are always evaluating potential new locations in the hopes of serving existing and new guests great food with remarkable service. While we hope to serve the Pocatello community in the future, we do not currently have any locations to confirm,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
Additionally, Chick-fil-A’s website does not list Pocatello as an upcoming location.
EastIdahoNews.com reached out to the city with the same question.
“At this time, we don’t have an application and no permits pulled for it,” said city spokesperson Marlise Irby-Facer.
According to the Bannock County Parcel Viewer, the empty lot near this area is owned by Pocatello Quinn Retail, LLC. The adjacent Titan Center may be owned by the same landowner, as that land is owned by Pocatello Quinn, LLC.
Requests for comment from the Teton Center were not returned.
While there is currently no standalone Chick-fil-A in Pocatello, one opened in the Idaho State University Pond Student Union Building in 2021.
The only freestanding Chick-fil-A in eastern Idaho is in Idaho Falls on Hitt Road.
