Vern Stamper age 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Roberts on February 6, 2026.

Vern Stamper was born on June 12, 1940, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Irene and William Stamper. He was the youngest of four children, preceded by his siblings Alice, Wayne, and Neal.

In the 1960s, Vern found his way to Roberts, Idaho, where he met the love of his life, Loretta Dodge, at her place of work, the Hubbard Café. Loretta was serving that day, gravy on her apron and the hem out of her dress, when Vern turned to a friend and declared that he would marry her someday. And he did. Together, Vern and Loretta raised their two sons, Dave and Richard Stamper, building a life rooted in love, hard work, and family.

In 1976, Vern left his position at V-1 and began working for himself as a builder, founding Stamper Enterprises. An entrepreneur at heart, Vern lived a full and adventurous life. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, and exploring the world of small business, including owning a bar and café during his lifetime.

Vern was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loretta; his parents, Irene and William Stamper; his siblings, Alice, Wayne, and Neal; and his grandson, Little Richard.

He is survived by his sons, Dave (Judy) and Richard (Diane); eight grandchildren, Wayne, Jennifer, Bill, Bob, Christina, Amanda, Sara, and Eric; thirteen great-grandchildren, Tristan, Natasha, Lasandra, Deegan, Drayke, Trynlee, Marley, Mckayla, Janoca, Jack and Lily; and two great-great-grandchildren, Saylor and Myka.

Vern lived a truly virtue-filled life, marked by craftsmanship, and perseverance.
