Obituary
Glenn Goebel
August 25th, 1962 - February 22nd, 2026
Glenn Frederick Goebel, 63, of Ashton, Idaho, passed away on February 22, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, following a snowmobile accident.
Born and raised in Ashton, Glenn spent his life dedicated to hard work, family, and the Idaho community he called home. After graduating from Idaho State University, where he studied to become a diesel mechanic, Glenn began his career working in mining operations throughout the region. He spent nearly 12 years in the mines of Nevada and Idaho, including Challis, Thompson Creek, and Barrick Goldstrike Mines, before pursuing a new trade.
Later in life, Glenn returned to school and became a journeyman plumber, continuing his career with the same determination and pride that defined everything he did. Never one to shy away from a challenge, he also earned his CDL license and lent his skills to Reynolds Farms, always willing to help wherever he was needed.
Outside of work, Glenn found happiness and peace in the great outdoors. He loved fishing in the many lakes and rivers across Idaho, often sharing those moments with his son, Brett. He was an avid hunter who cherished time spent in Idaho’s hills and forests. Glenn also enjoyed riding horses, snowmobiling, and spending time with his many beloved animals—especially his dogs, who were his constant companions.
Glenn truly loved living in Ashton, Idaho. The fields, the mountains, and the people of the area meant everything to him. It was the place where he felt most at home, and where he wanted to be throughout his life.
Glenn’s shop was a favorite gathering place for friends and family, where stories were shared and laughter echoed around the wood‑burning heater on cold Idaho evenings. His easy friendship, love of the land, and devotion to the people and animals that surrounded him made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Glenn is survived by his children Nickole George, Ryan Barker, Brett Goebel, Jordyn Stoddard, and Kyrsti Neeley; and by his siblings Susan Dille, William Goebel, Robert Goebel, and Evan Goebel.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Gay Goebel, and father, Frank Owen Goebel.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebrate Glenn’s life. A visitation with family will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Ashton Community United Methodist Church, 178 South 5th Street, Ashton, Idaho. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location. Interment will take place in the Ashton Cemetery.
Glenn will be remembered for his work ethic, his humor, his loyalty, and his deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. His legacy lives on through the countless memories made with friends and family who loved him dearly.
