Obituary
Lorraine Staker
January 10th, 1944 - March 20th, 2026
There are some people whose love becomes the foundation of a family, and Lorraine Kay Durtschi Staker was one of those rare, beautiful souls. Born January 10, 1944. She passed peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026, leaving behind her loving husband, Gerald (Brent) Staker, and their five children, Tawnya (Rodger) Fosmore, Nathan Staker, Gerald (Jan) Staker, Terria ( Allen) Beck, and Angela (Shane) Piquet; as well as her siblings, Ronna (Bob) Degraw, Gaylene (Sid) Carlson, Garren (Barbara) Durtschi; and the joys of her life, 19 beloved grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Armin and Glora Dean Durtschi; her older brother, Larry; twin sister, Loretta; and younger sister, Janaye; as well as her grandchild, Ryan Hatcher; and great grandchild, Brylee Harris.
Lorraine was a quiet source of comfort and warmth; she had a gentle spirit and a kind heart. Lorraine’s greatest happiness came from her family, especially her husband. Lorraine married the love of her life December 27, 1963. This December would have been their 63rd anniversary. She took incredible care of Brent in every way.
Lorraine was a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many areas of the church, but one of her very favorites was serving in the Young Women’s. Lorraine also had a true testimony of genealogy. You could often find her faithfully working for hours and hours discovering her ancestors and preparing to have their temple work done. Lorraine was a very talented artist and left behind many beautiful paintings for her posterity to enjoy. Lorraine was a master quilter and created many beautiful quilts for members of her family and others for graduations, marriages, and grandbabies. What Lorraine will be most remembered for was her time in the beauty shop. She had an incredible ability to make people look and feel beautiful. Her clients adored their time with her and became her dearest friends.
Brent and Lorraine were able to travel all over the world including Mexico, Hawaii, and Belize, to name a few, but they especially cherished their travels with their beloved Dinner Club.
Lorraine leaves behind an incredible legacy. Her belief and her love for the Savior was such an astounding example to us all. Saying goodbye, we hold on to our countless memories of her as an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
