Sherry T. Clay, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.

Sherry was born on September 15, 1947, in Rigby, ID, to Cyrus Budge and Nina Ruth Clay. She was raised in Archer/Sunnydell, ID. When she was 10, she moved to Red Bluff, CA, with her father. She attended Madison High School in Rexburg, ID. She married Keith Merrill. They were later divorced. She later married Richard Fuska.

Sherry lived in Chelmsford and Billerica, Massachusetts, when her sons were young. Later, she moved to Nashua, New Hampshire. She received many awards and honors for her work.

She graduated from Middlesex Community College and received her B.A. in Social Work from Salem State College in Salem, MA.

Sherry enjoyed helping those less fortunate and marginalized. She enjoyed teaching piano lessons and crocheting afghans for friends and family. She also enjoyed the New England countryside, lakes, and coastal waters.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lonny Keith Merrill; her husband, Richard Fuska; and brothers: Blair Clay (Delpha), and Kelly Clay.

Sherry is survived by her sons: Shaun Merrill, of Idaho Falls, ID, Travis Merrill of Leicester, MA, Jason Merrill of Leicester, MA, and Richard “R.J.” of Fuska, MA; her sister, Ronda Rasmussen of Idaho Falls, ID; her half-brother, Kevin (Suzette) Clay of Rexburg, ID; her half-sister, Michelle Hamlin of St. Anthony, ID; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

At her request, no services will be held. Cremation is under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
