US-30 reopens after two semi-trucks crash near Kimberly

KIMBERLY (KMVT/KSVT) — On Thursday morning, a crash blocked U.S. 30 in both directions near Kimberly, by the Chobani facility, according to the Idaho State Police.
The crash occurred around 10:15 a.m. near milepost 221 on westbound U.S. 30. A 2013 Kenworth semi-truck hauling potatoes struck a 2011 Western Star semi-truck hauling John Deere equipment, according to the Idaho State Police. All lanes were blocked, and drivers were asked to consider taking an alternate route and to expect delays. Traffic was also being rerouted.
Both drivers were taken by ground ambulance to a local hospital, according to the City of Twin Falls. No other injuries were reported.
Crews were dispatched back to the scene to help wash down the roadway to restore safe driving conditions. The road was closed for about five hours but is now open.
