IDAHO FALLS – Visiting The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho may now be as simple as checking out a library book.
The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho is proud to announce a new library pass lending program in partnership with local libraries across Eastern Idaho, helping make museum admission more accessible for individuals and families throughout the region. Through the program, participating libraries will offer museum passes available for checkout by patrons, allowing community members to experience exhibitions, family activities, and creative exploration at no cost. The library passes will function just like a regular annual family membership, even allowing library patrons to purchase art classes and summer camps at discounted membership rates.
The initiative reflects the museum’s ongoing commitment to accessibility, education, and community connection.
“At its heart, the museum exists for the community,” said Amy Sisco Thompson, Development Director at The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho. “We want as many people as possible to feel welcome here and to experience the inspiration, creativity, and sense of connection that art can offer. Partnering with libraries is a natural extension of that mission.”
Often described as one of Idaho Falls’ cultural gems, The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho brings nationally and internationally recognized exhibitions, educational programming, classes, camps, lectures, and family experiences to the region year-round. Located along the beautiful Idaho Falls Greenbelt, the museum serves thousands of visitors annually and continues to grow alongside the community it serves, with plans for an expanded building and education center currently in the works.
Museum leaders hope the library pass program will help remove financial barriers while encouraging new audiences to discover the museum for the first time.
“Museums and libraries share so many common values,” Thompson said. “Both are places of curiosity, imagination, lifelong learning, and community gathering. We’re incredibly grateful to the libraries helping make this program possible.”
Passes should now be available through participating libraries. Community members interested in checking out a pass are encouraged to contact their local library for availability. If a library is not yet participating, patrons are invited to encourage their librarians to reach out to the museum to learn more about joining the program.
The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho offers rotating exhibitions featuring regional, national, and international artists, along with year-round educational programming for children, teens, and adults. From hands-on creativity in KIDStudio to lectures, classes, camps, and community events, the museum strives to be a welcoming and inspiring space for visitors of all ages.
