IDAHO FALLS — The Freedom 250 Mobile Museum is making a stop in Idaho Falls next month, giving visitors a chance to explore America’s founding and 250 years of U.S. history through interactive exhibits and historical artifacts.

The traveling museum will be at the Bonneville County Fairgrounds, 1542 E. 73rd S., from Aug. 8-10. It will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free.

Housed inside an 80-foot trailer, the museum features immersive exhibits, authentic artifacts and hands-on technology designed to bring the nation’s history to life. Visitors can virtually sign the Declaration of Independence, explore a tribute wall honoring 50 American heroes and experience other interactive displays focused on America’s founding.

The museum is one of six Freedom Trucks traveling across the country in 2026 as part of the Freedom 250 initiative, which celebrates the nation’s semiquincentennial, or 250th anniversary.

“This is a meaningful opportunity for our community to remember the people, principles and sacrifices that helped forge the nation we call home,” said Susan Stucki, America250 in Idaho Service Ambassador and Idaho Falls JustServe specialist. “We invite everyone to come experience the story of America in an engaging, family-friendly way.”

Special activities are planned for Saturday, Aug. 8, when the Daughters of the American Revolution will host Revolutionary War-era activities for children from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can also take photos with the Patriot Spuddy Buddies during Saturday’s event.

Freedom 250 is a national initiative commemorating America’s 250th anniversary through community events, educational programs and traveling museum tours across the United States.
