On the quiet evening of July 19, 2026, Rebecca Turnmire, 72, passed away at her home in Idaho Falls.

Becky was born November 13, 1953, to Kenneth Albert Lancaster and Mary Jane Curran Weisenburger. She grew up and attended schools in Wendell, Hagerman, and Idaho Falls, and graduated from Capital High School in Boise. She also attended St. Alphonsus, where she graduated from the X-ray program.

Becky made her home in Idaho Falls, where she would raise a son, Jonny Lancaster, and marry her husband, Terrace “Terry” Lee Turnmire. She took great pride in her career, working for more than 30 years as an X-ray technician and building deep relationships with her patients and colleagues. She radiated a contagious love and fierce loyalty wherever she went, stepping in as a surrogate grandma to her neighbors and building an extensive chosen family. She spent most of her evenings out on her porch watching the sunset, throwing the ball for her dog, Arthur, and opening Temu packages to add to her personal store that she kept to gift to her loved ones.

Becky loved Jesus and was a devoted member of Watersprings Church. She enjoyed going on cruises, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and telling secrets on her porch with her family and friends, which to Becky were one and the same. She was a committed grandmother who enjoyed watching “The Walking Dead” with her grandson, Corbin Lancaster, and gossiping with her granddaughter, Ryleigh Lancaster.

Becky’s memory lives on through her family, including, but not limited to, her brother, Bruce Lancaster; stepsister, Chrisine Wanek; grandson, Corbin Lancaster; granddaughters, Ryleigh Lancaster and Sapheera Staggie; nephews, Donald Wanek, Kevin Wanek, and Brett Lancaster; chosen daughters, Tabatha Cox and Stephine Dunn; and chosen sons, Travis Spencer and Ross Davidson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jonny Lancaster; husband, Terry Turnmire; parents, Kenneth Lancaster and Mary Weisenburger; chosen son, Chad Elliott; and beloved dog, Gunther.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Watersprings Church, 4240 S. 25th E.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
