Create your own slime and paint fun projects at this new Rexburg business

REXBURG — A new hands-on creative studio just opened up in Rexburg, where kids and adults can create slime, paint projects, make bracelets and more.
Moose Creek Creative opened in July and is located at 365 West Main Street in Rexburg. It’s described as a DIY creative studio and slime bar, with 3D-printed items and a gift shop.
Most projects are available on a walk-in basis, which allows customers to visit without committing to a scheduled class.
“You don’t need to be artistic. You don’t need to be crafty to come in and do something at our studio. It’s for everybody. We are here to help you,” said Michele Lewellen-Cominotti, owner of Moose Creek Creative.
She is inviting the community to the grand opening this week, on Aug. 14 and Aug. 15, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. There will be special discounts, giveaways, and refreshments. Guests can explore the studio, work on a project, or make some slime.
It’s free to attend. Project and activity prices vary.
“The big hit, which has been more surprising than anything, is our slime bar. You can pick the color that you want it to be, and then you get to pick from scents that we have,” Lewellen-Cominotti said. “You take it to your table, sit down, and build your slime. So you get your hands in there, you get really messy, and you make it come to life.”
She’s had customers drive from Pocatello just to make slime. There’s even one girl who has come in four times already since the business opened three weeks ago.
“The responses we are getting from people who come and visit have been phenomenal,” Lewellen-Cominotti said. “The parents that come in are like, ‘I love to come here and do slime with my kids because I don’t have the mess at my house.’ It’s a fun, stretchy, sensory, calming, relaxing thing to kind of play with.”
The studio has something for all ages, from little kids to adults. It’s fit for families, date nights, hanging out with friends, church groups, school groups, birthday celebrations, and anyone looking for a hands-on activity.
There are wood layered projects with different designs like nature, butterflies, welcome signs and more that people can paint.
“For the men, we have this really cool patriotic skull that’s layered, and that’s been popular,” Lewellen-Cominotti said.
If customers want to do one of the creative projects, they can stay in the studio. There’s a $6 studio fee, which covers paint, brushes, and all the supplies you need. Each project is priced individually and ranges from $6 to $40.
“Or if you don’t want to paint it in-house, you can just pay the project cost and take it home and use your own supplies,” she said.
The slime bar does not have a studio fee. It’s a flat price of $12 to make slime.
“We have workshops that are going to start next month, and our first workshop is going to be crushed glass suncatchers, and it’s going to be a fall-themed suncatcher,” Lewellen-Cominotti added.
