Arthur “Lee” Johnston

Arthur “Lee” Johnston, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully August 6, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family and dogs.

Arthur was born August 30, 1938, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Betty and Robert Johnston. He grew up and attended schools in Twin Falls and Ammon. He graduated as High School President from Bonneville High School. He also attended the University of Utah where he received a full ride scholarship to play football. Afterward, Arthur served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander which helped him go back to the University of Utah to get his Masters in Sociology.

On December 26th, 1979, he married the love of his life, Gloria Treasure Reed, in Long Beach, CA . Arthur and Treasure made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Arthur worked as a sociologist for District 91, and a landlord and business owner of Treasure’s Formal Bridal and Tux.

He was a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved being a Home Teacher. He enjoyed watching football and hockey, along with all other sports. With an extreme passion for coaching and being a mentor, he helped thousands of children and adults alike believe and ameliorate themselves. He was an Eagle Scout at 12; the president of Grid Kid Football; and the president of Idaho Falls Youth Hockey Association.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Treasure Johnston of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Adam Lloyd Johnston of Idaho Falls, ID, son, Andrew Lorance Johnston of Idaho Falls, ID; step-son, Nolan Thomas of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Tiffany (Scott) Tallman of Ammon, ID; brother, Larry Johnston of Ammon, ID; brother, Bill Johnston of Ammon, ID; sister, Joanne Dominguez of Portland, OR; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-son, David Thomas; son, Eric Johnston; and son, Aaron Johnston.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Ammon West Stake Center, 2055 Coronado Street, with Andrew Johnston officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery where Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Navy Honor Guard.
