IDAHO FALLS — You can “recover from an injury, build strength and improve performance all in one place” at a business in Idaho Falls.

The Physioshop Idaho, located at 2283 East 17th Street, is next to Bob’s Indoor Golf and Sculptd Studio. Owner Tyler Johnson opened its doors in April this year.

There’s a 24/7 gym, personal training, and a physical therapy clinic under the same roof.

“I’ve had multiple people come back and tell me that they’ve never had an experience like this, which is awesome, because that’s what I’m trying to bring to this area,” Johnson said.

Many athletes have received physical therapy at The Physioshop, like high school athletes and collegiate athletes. Johnson said they work with people of all ages, backgrounds, and activity levels.

“We’re trying to get people to squat, to hinge, to deadlift, to be able to get themselves up out of a chair or pick something off the ground without hurting themselves, right? Whether they’re 74 years old or 14 years old,” Johnson said.

A new physical therapist has been hired onto the team, Dr. Braden Bennett. Johnson and Bennett treat knees, hips, the lumbar spine, shoulders, elbows, hands, wrists, and more. Click here to see the full list.

“We don’t put people on tables and just let them lie there with ice or heat or anything like that. We are out in the gym. We’re lifting, we’re moving, doing different kinds of exercises to help, whether it’s mobility, flexibility, or strength,” Johnson added.

If you are interested in trying physical therapy, you can make an appointment by clicking here or by calling (208) 710-7799. The mission is to “fully resolve functional problems so patients don’t have to return with the same concern.”

“If there are gym members here that end up getting a tweaked shoulder or something hurts in their hip, they can come talk to a physical therapist and set up an appointment. Because it’s all in-house,” Johnson added.

As for the 24-hour private gym, it lets people train whenever they want, without the crowds. There’s a limited membership list and no contracts. There are plenty of weights available.

“Lots of free weights, barbells, dumbbells. We have turf, we have sleds. We have lots of cardio equipment, treadmills and free runners. Also, cable machines, private bathrooms and private changing rooms,” Johnson said.

There are personal trainers, including Johnson, who help beyond workouts. It’s about building strength, improving movement and training with a purpose, according to the website.

Anyone can have a personal trainer, even if they aren’t a serious athlete. There’s sports performance training as well, which works on strength and speed.

The Physioshop offers specialized recovery services too, such as dry needling, cupping therapy, manual therapy, mobility and recovery work.

“There’s something for everyone,” Johnson told EastIdahoNews.com.

Johnson was born and raised in Idaho Falls and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 2017. He earned an undergraduate degree in kinesiology from Lewis-Clark State College and then graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. The idea of The Physioshop came from a mentor of his in Arizona.

He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist with a background in sports and powerlifting.

The gym has been a huge part of his life since he was a teenager. It took priority. He loves fitness and health. He’s wanted to help others, which is why he opened The Physioshop. He hopes that people can come and check it out.

“Come see how good physical therapy can really be,” Johnson said.
