Crews making repairs as power is restored for many Idaho Falls Power customers

Power has been restored for many Idaho Falls Power customers. About 450 customers are without power, as of 6:38 p.m.
In an update on its Facebook page Monday night, the company says “dispatch has isolated a section of line and closed the breaker. Crews are onsite working to make repairs.”

Idaho Falls Power posted the following on its Facebook page Monday night:
“Dispatch is doing some switching and rerouting of power to isolate the problem and restore service to as many others who are affected as they can.”

IDAHO FALLS – About 2,500 Idaho Falls Power customers are in the dark Monday night due to a power outage.
The outage is impacting customers on the west side of town. A post on the company’s Facebook page around 5:45 p.m. says the outage is due to a downed power line on Neptune Drive.
“Crews are currently working on the problem. We will post updates as we receive them,” the post reads.
As of 6 p.m., it’s unclear when the power will be restored. EastIdahoNews.com reached out to company spokeswoman Sarah Wheeler for additional information, but she did not answer our calls.
Rocky Mountain Power is reporting separate outages on its website as well. Nearly 300 customers near Ammon are impacted, along with more than 500 in the Rigby area.
