Kay Lea Lott, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away on August 31, 2026 at Morningstar Senior Living Center. She was under the care of her loving family, Aspen Home Health and Hospice, and Morningstar Assisted Living, for all of whom we are deeply grateful.

Kay was born on February 18, 1937, and was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Frederick Pearl Snelling and Nellie Coppock Block Snelling. She attended schools in Fort Collins and graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1955.

On June 8, 1958, she married her beloved Layman Austin Lott. Kay and Layman raised their children in Boulder, Colorado and later moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, Spud Kings Hockey, the Denver Broncos, and Colorado State University football. She enjoyed traveling; experiencing new places, and especially loved being a snowbird, spending time in warmer places with Layman.

Kay was a proud grandmother to fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She loved watching her family grow and treasured the memories made with each child.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Chet) Thorson of Nampa, ID daughter, Laura (Steve) Eldredge of Ammon, ID; daughter, Jennifer (Kenny) Bennett of Hooper, UT; and daughter, Julie (Kip) Archibald of Idaho Falls, Idaho; fourteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nellie Snelling; husband of 58 years, Layman Lott; and sisters, Margaret Rogers, Ellen Gallagher, and Gail Snelling.

A heartfelt Thank-you goes to Dave Rose, Kay’s best friend, for the love, companionship, kindness, and friendship he gave her.

Kay wanted to be remembered for her sense of humor, being a good mother and grandmother, being a good person, and looked forward to meeting the Heavenly Father.
