A Feel Good Friday surprise for a Les Schwab employee who gave his own wheels to help a dad reach a wedding
Published atEastIdahoNews.com is partnering with Smith Honda in Idaho Falls to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.
We recently received an email about a tire store employee who rescued a man on the way to his daughter’s wedding. Here’s what the message said:
I would like to nominate Angel Rosales for recognition for an act of extraordinary kindness and selflessness that I experienced firsthand.
I live in Rexburg. While traveling to Utah for my daughter’s wedding dinner, I experienced a sudden rear tire failure near Pocatello. My vehicle does not carry a spare tire, and due to the unique performance tire size, none were available locally. I found myself stranded, stressed, and facing the very real possibility of missing an important family milestone.
A tow service was able to transport my vehicle to Les Schwab in Pocatello. There, I was informed that my specific tire size was not in stock and would need to be ordered. At that point, Angel Rosales, a technician at the shop, learned of my situation.
Without hesitation, Angel explained that he personally owned a sports car with the same tire size. He then offered to remove a set of wheels from his own vehicle and install them on mine so that I could continue my trip and attend my daughter’s wedding dinner.
This act came at a meaningful personal cost. By lending me his wheels, Angel temporarily left his own vehicle unusable for several days. He did so willingly, without expectation of reward or recognition, simply to help a stranger in need.
Because of his generosity and quick thinking, I was able to continue my journey and be present for a moment that mattered deeply to my family.
Angel’s actions reflect a rare combination of technical skill, compassion, and selflessness. I believe he is highly deserving of recognition.
We tracked Angel down and surprised him for Feel Good Friday. Watch in the video player above!
