IDAHO FALLS — Five local nonprofits will be beneficiaries of donations made to the Giving Machine in Idaho Falls this holiday season.
The charities include:
- Idaho Falls Community Food Basket
- Idaho Falls Family YMCA
- Idaho Falls Humanitarian Center
- United Way of Eastern Idaho
- Ronald McDonald House Community Family Clinic
A Giving Machine is a vending machine that allows people to purchase an item for someone else. Guests can select from a variety of items ranging from books for children to vaccinations or even chickens to bless the lives of those in need. One hundred percent of donations go to the charity.

The program is sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Giving Machines have been set up in different locations around the world. Last year, 35,000 people visited the Giving Machine in Idaho Falls, 32,000 visited the Pocatello location and in Rexburg, 28,000 visitors were reported.
