Idaho Falls woman arrested, accused of attempting to run her sister over with a car

IDAHO FALLS — An Idaho Falls woman was arrested after her sister reported the suspect had tried to run her over with a car.
Natalie Ann Kirkham, 59, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault, a felony.
Court documents state that on July 17, deputies with the Bonneville County Sheriff’s office responded to an Idaho Falls residence for reports of a domestic disturbance.
The victim reported her sister, Kirkham, had come to her home and started “beating” on the door, demanding paperwork, court documents state. Kirkham and the victim had reportedly been arguing over end-of-life care for their mother.
According to the victim’s testimony in court documents, during the argument, Kirkham allegedly got in her car and tried approximately four times to hit the victim with the vehicle. The victim reportedly provided video footage of the incident.
Law enforcement reportedly contacted Kirkham at her place of work, and Kirkham allegedly told police she had gotten angry with her sister and had tried to run her over.
Kirkham was subsequently arrested and transported to the Bonneville County Jail.
Kirkham is being represented in court by Curtis R. Smith. EastIdahoNews.com has reached out to Smith’s office for comment, but has not received a response.
If found guilty of the charge, Kirkham may face up to five years in prison and may be required to pay fines of up to $5,000.
Kirkham had a preliminary hearing on Thursday afternoon.
Although Kirkham had been charged with a crime, that does not necessarily mean she committed it. Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
