Caleb Flynn Trial, Day 1: Mistress, 911 call, police bodycam, a jury house visit and more

The Caleb Flynn murder trial is officially underway, and the first day brought two dramatically different versions of what happened inside the Flynn family home in Tipp City, Ohio.
Prosecutors say the former “American Idol” contestant and pastor shot his wife, Ashley Flynn, while she slept, and then staged the scene to look like a home invasion.
In the prosecution’s opening statement, Prosecutor Paul Watkins revealed disturbing messages his team says Flynn sent to his longtime mistress — including messages about killing his wife — and told jurors they will hear from that mistress when she takes the stand.
But the defense came out swinging, arguing that investigators developed tunnel vision after discovering Flynn’s extramarital affair. His attorneys pointed to what they say is missing: no murder weapon recovered, no gunshot residue on Flynn, no fingerprints tying him to the shooting, and no eyewitness.
