Steven Kenneth Lords

Steven Kenneth Lords, 76, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Steven was a cowboy through and through. He embraced the cowboy lifestyle with passion, and his love for horses, ranching, and the open range was matched only by his deep love and commitment to his family. He cherished his time on the ranch, spending countless hours tending cattle, riding horses, driving truck, and enjoying the freedom of the open range.

Steven grew up in Roberts, Idaho, where he attended school and graduated from West Jefferson High School. He loved playing basketball, fishing, hunting, and, of course, riding horses. His love of ranching took him to Big Piney, Wyoming, where he worked on a ranch and continued living the life he loved.

Steven also made a living driving truck for over 20 years. He loved being behind the wheel and the freedom of the open road. Whether he was working cattle on the ranch, riding horses, or driving truck, Steven was a hard worker who took pride in the life he lived.

Steven also proudly served his country. A little-known fact about Steven was that he was the last number called in the Idaho draft for the Vietnam War.

Those who knew Steven will remember his quick wit, his generous heart, and his unmistakable sense of humor. He loved giving everyone a hard time and could always be counted on to keep things interesting. His stories, laughter, and spirit will live on in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lois Lords, his brothers, Fred and Keith and his sisters Elva Brower and Sharon Smith, and his two sons, Skip and Matthew.

Steven was survived by his sisters, Shirlene Olsen, Lola Wobken, and Loretta Combs. His brother Brian and daughters, Stepanie and Amanda. He was also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Steven’s greatest joy was being with his family. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Little Butte Cemetery in Annis, Idaho.
