Enjoy sweet treats and friendly chats with Idaho Falls officers at ‘Treats with the Police’

IDAHO FALLS – From September 29th to October 2nd, the Idaho Falls Police Department will be hosting four Treats with the Police events aimed at building relationships between community members and the officers and staff who primarily work in their areas. Each of these events will be hosted at a park in that “Beat”, starting with Beat One at Reinhart Park on September 29th and will take place from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
These events follow the Coffee with a Cop model, a nationwide effort to break down barriers and improve communication between police departments and the communities they serve. Attendees at each of these events will have the opportunity to meet police officers, department leadership, and other staff who are assigned to work primarily in their Beat. Community members can ask questions, share concerns, and engage in problem-solving in conversations with IFPD team members.
Beat 1 includes residents who live West of S Yellowstone Avenue within the City limits. Beat 1 residents are invited to Reinhart Park on Tuesday, September 29th from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Beat 2 includes residents who live between S Yellowstone Avenue and S Holmes Avenue. Beat 2 residents are invited to Rollandet Park on Wednesday, September 30th from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Beat 3 includes residents who live between S Holmes Avenue and S Woodruff Avenue. Beat 3 residents are invited to Community Park on Thursday, October 1st from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Beat 4 includes residents who live East of S Woodruff Avenue within the Idaho Falls City limits. Beat 4 residents are invited to Mel Erickson Park on Friday, October 2nd from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
IFPD will provide treats at each event, while supplies last. Community members of all ages, including families and children, are welcome to attend.
The Idaho Falls Police Department will also be hosting Coffee with a Cop on Wednesday, October 7th from 7 – 9 a.m. at the Idaho Falls Police Complex. Community members unable to attend their beat event are invited to attend Coffee with a Cop, or another beat event.
