E. Geneal Fullmer

E. Geneal Douglass Fullmer, 95, passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2026.

Geneal was born August 2, 1931, in Teton Valley in Cache to C. Orrin Douglass and Stella R. Madsen. She was born in her grandparents’ home, and it is still standing. She was the youngest of four: Maxine, Vernice, and Ilene.

She attended grade school in Cache and graduated from Teton High School in Driggs, Idaho, in 1949. She played the trumpet in the band and was the first female drum majorette at Teton High School. She also played basketball. She worked for the Economy Cache Store in Driggs.

She met Larry Fullmer, and they began dating. He was a year younger than Geneal, so she had to wait for him to graduate. They were married on March 29, 1951, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They lived in Teton Valley, Idaho Falls, then moved to Ammon, where they lived for over 60 years and raised their seven children.

She worked at Sprouse Rietz, General Mills, and Albertsons.

She is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held many positions in the church, which included Relief Society President and Primary President; she taught a lot of classes. She was a Visiting Teacher for years and never missed a month of going.

She loved family gatherings and cook-outs in the west hills of Teton Valley. She enjoyed attending the Tetonia Ward bazaars. Later, the family started their own campground at Grandpa’s Clearing in Tetonia. All summer long there were gatherings, food, raffles, counting jars, playing in the creek, and late-night games with the campfire burning.

She enjoyed reading, quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking, and making candy. Her hands were always busy. She even taught her grandson how to make a quilt for his wife. They picked out the material, cut the pieces, sewed it together, and she taught him how to quilt.

She is survived by her children Regena, Wynn (Teresa), Mary Bailey, Merrill (Kristie), William (Jackie), Kenneth (Michelle); 24 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren.

Geneal was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Larry Fullmer, son Dale Fullmer, daughter-in-law Kendi Fullmer, and son-in-law David Bailey.

We will miss her stories, her divinity, but most of all will miss our mother, grandmother, and friend.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Stonehaven LDS Ward, 2055 Coronado Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive family and friends 1 hour prior to services. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Cache-Clawson Cemetery in Tetonia.
