INKOM — A 19-year-old Downey man was killed Thursday evening after his pickup truck slammed into the back of a semi-truck trailer on Interstate 15 north of Inkom.
The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. near milepost 60, according to Idaho State Police.
Investigators say the man was driving a 2011 Ford F-350 southbound when he rear-ended a 2017 Peterbilt semi-truck pulling a trailer. Both vehicles came to rest in the right southbound lane.
The pickup driver was not wearing a seat belt and died from his injuries. The semi-truck driver, a 67-year-old man from Park City, Utah, was also traveling southbound.
The right southbound lane was closed for about four hours as crews responded to the crash.
