CANYON COUNTY — About 15 people were taken to hospitals after a major crash Saturday involving seven vehicles and 25 motorcycles in Canyon County.

The crash happened around 12:20 p.m. on westbound Interstate 84 near milepost 28.

The motorcycles were traveling westbound as part of a memorial ride when the crash occurred, leaving several vehicles stopped in the westbound lanes, according to Idaho State Police.

Around 15 people were rushed to local hospitals by air ambulance, ground ambulance or in personal vehicles. Authorities have not released information about the extent of their injuries.

The westbound lanes of I-84 were blocked for about four hours as emergency crews responded to the scene.

Idaho State Police were assisted by the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Caldwell Police Department, Canyon County Paramedics, several area fire departments and the Idaho Transportation Department.

The crash remains under investigation.
