Obituary
Sondra “Sunny” Morgan
September 7th, 1942 - October 5th, 2026
Sondra Lee Cook Morgan, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away peacefully in her home on October 5, 2026, under the care of her loving granddaughter, London Hall, family members, Clover Care and Brio Hospice. She peacefully returned to her Father in Heaven where we are sure a joyous reunion took place between her husband, Brent; her daughter, Monette; her parents; her sisters; and others who have passed before her.
Sondra was born September 7, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the youngest of three to Norman Williams Cook and Lenna Mae Jacobson Cook. Sondra grew up in Idaho Falls and was given the nickname “Sunny” by her dad at a young age that stuck with her throughout her life. She attended Westside Elementary, Central Intermediate, O.E. Bell Junior High, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On November 18, 1961, she married the love of her life, Brent Jack Morgan, in Idaho Falls, where they made their home and welcomed their first daughter, Michele. They were then sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on October 16, 1965, and later welcomed three additional daughters, Monette, Janae, and Nicole. Her pride and joy was her family, including her daughters and their spouses, 24 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. She dedicated her life to spending quality time with each one of them.
In 1975, Sunny, alongside her husband Brent, founded Rocky Mountain Supply. For the next 20 years she worked behind the scenes to help the business succeed. One of her favorite things about that business was the opportunities it gave them to employ many family and friends throughout those years, and the friendships that were created with the people she was able to meet.
From 2003 to 2004, Sunny and her husband served a mission in Salt Lake City on Temple Square for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There they oversaw the sister missionaries and she developed a deeper love for our Savior and those she served.
Sunny was as kind as she was sweet and enjoyed spending quality time at her cabin surrounded by her family. Her love for Diet Coke and chocolate was only surpassed by the love she had for her treasures (children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.) She enjoyed cooking food and making treats to share with everyone around her. She was often caught sneaking candy from her purse to her grandkids and great-grandkids when they were gathered as a family. She was given the name “grandma sucker” by many of her great-grandkids.
Sunny is survived by her children, Michele (Greg) Huntsman, Janae (Creg) Fielding, Nicole (Justin) Hall; her 24 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brent; her daughter, Monette; her sister, Colleen (Bill) Toomer; her sister, Marilyn (David) Bailey; her father, Norman Cook; and her mother, Lenna Jacobson Cook.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Rose Hill Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1-1:45 p.m. prior at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls.
Condolences for the family may be sent to www.woodfuneralhome.com.
