Day Six of the Cooper Ouellette trial brought the defense’s case to a close, with sharp questions for the lead detective, testimony from several friends who were with Sophie and Cooper the night she died, and a major decision from the defendant himself.

Several witnesses who knew Sophie and Ouellette also took the stand and their testimony offered more details about Sophie’s condition, the drinking that took place that night, and the events leading up to the couple leaving the gathering.

One of the biggest developments came when Ouellette confirmed in court that he would not testify in his own defense. Now, the trial moves into its final phase.

Grace Wong joins us from the courthouse as Nate Eaton discusses the biggest moments from the day.
