After suddenly losing his vision, a police K9 trainer get unexpected surprise from a Secret Santa

BLACKFOOT — A local Secret Santa is spreading holiday cheer across eastern Idaho, giving away $1 million to people who deserve a little extra magic this Christmas.
Chad has been a master canine instructor for most of his law enforcement career. He helped train others and led the way in that particular arm of Idaho State Police.
Chad just recently lost most of his vision due to a rare condition called NAION. It’s basically considered a stroke of the eye.
Within a month, his vision was mostly gone in both eyes. He has been forced into early retirement due to losing his vision and cannot drive anymore.
He has been doing quite a few treatments and infusions to help reduce inflammation and get some of the blood flow back to his eye, but with infusions and doctor’s appointments, it has become a lot financially, especially the drive back and forth from Blackfoot to Idaho Falls 2-3 times a week.
Because of his severe vision loss in both eyes, everyday activities have become incredibly challenging.
Secret Santa heard about Chad and asked the East Idaho News elves to pay him a visit with an early Christmas gift. Check out the surprise in the video player above!
