Annie Gibbens

Annie is the business administrative assistant at East Idaho News, where she helps keep things moving from the front desk. Originally from Luhansk, Ukraine, she came to the United States when she was 2 and has been an Idaho girl ever since. She recently joined the East Idaho News team as she prepares to graduate from BYU-Idaho and begin her career.
Annie studies marriage and family studies with a minor in peace and conflict transformation. Through her studies, she has explored her interests in human development, communication and business. She has also worked closely with professors as a teaching assistant, occasionally helping teach classes. She especially enjoyed facilitating thought-provoking discussions and helping students connect classroom concepts to real life. In April 2026, she had the opportunity to speak at the United Nations in New York about protecting children and families.
What first drew Annie to East Idaho News was the variety of the role. She enjoys that no two days look exactly the same and that there is always something new to learn. She considers herself a bit of a sponge when it comes to learning and is always looking for ways to grow.
When she isn’t at work, Annie loves being outside, whether she’s wake-surfing, hiking, walking or relaxing in a hammock. After work, you can usually find her spending time with her husband, at the gym, playing pickleball, reading a good book or coming up with a fun adventure to do with those she loves.
