Acel Lake
June 6th, 1960 - May 18th, 2024
Acel Fred Lake, 63, of Rexburg, passed away May 18, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Acel was born June 6, 1960, in Rigby, Idaho, to George Ray Lake and Jessie Mahan Lake. He grew up and attended schools in Roberts, Rigby, and Idaho Falls, and graduated from the welding program at Idaho State University.
He married Susan Lee Kemp in Elko, Nevada. Acel and Susan made their home in Rexburg, where Acel worked as a maintenance mechanic for Anheuser Busch.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, farming, and gold prospecting. He also loved raising horses.
Acel is survived by his wife, Susan Lake of Rexburg, ID; son, David Lake of Rigby, ID; daughter, Carol Hook of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Levi Lake of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Lynn Lake of Woodburn, OR; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jennifer Lake; son, Stephen Hook; brothers, George Lake and Bailey Lake; and infant brother, Leslie Lake.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Friday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior at the funeral home. The services will be broadcast live at www.woodfuneralhome.com. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.
