Barbara Jean Carlson
August 24th, 1957 - April 25th, 2026
Barbara Jean Carlson, 68, of Rigby, passed away April 25, 2026, at her home surrounded by her entire loving family. She was under the care of her family and Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
Barbara was born August 24, 1957, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Dr. Maurice King Heninger and Vera Holbrook Heninger. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She later attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University.
On April 28, 1978, she married Bradley R. Carlson in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Barbara and Bradley made their home in various locations, including Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and for the past 35 years, Ucon and Rigby, Idaho. Barbara worked in food service for Bonneville School District for 20 years, serving countless kids whom she considered her own, nourishing them physically and emotionally.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed horseback riding, camping, playing games with family, cooking and feeding others, and especially being a mother and grandmother.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Bradley Carlson of Rigby, ID; son, Wade (Nicole) Carlson of Rigby, ID; son, Nathan (Alisha) Carlson of Rigby, ID; son, David (Cheri) Carlson of Rigby, ID; son, Daniel (Crystal) Carlson of Richmond, UT; son, Craig (Tiffany) Carlson of Rigby, ID; daughter, Kristina (Thomas) Stickley of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Steven Heninger of Meridian, ID; sister, Launa Nelson of Gilbert, AZ; sister, Becky (Gary) Jewkes of St. George, UT; brother, David (Kathy) Heninger of Idaho Falls, ID; and 20 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Benjamin Carlson; sister, Susan Heninger; father-in-law, Don Carlson; mother-in-law, Beth Carlson; brother-in-law, Brett Carlson; and sister-in-law, Melanie Heninger.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 401 West 1st South, Rigby, ID. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior, with both visitations at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
