Blanche N. (Scott) Scuderi, passed from this life on Monday, September 4, 2023. Blanche was born January 16, 1938, to Lloyd and Nora Scott in Fairview, Wyoming. She was raised on the family farm in Annis, Idaho with her three siblings, Darla, Dee and Lynn. She attended Rigby High School, married shortly thereafter, and had four children. After her divorce, Blanche attended Trade School where she learned that she excelled in secretarial duties as she was quite proficient in shorthand and typing. She loved to square-dance and later on, while out dancing with friends, she met the man who would come to be “the one true love of her life”. She married James T. Scuderi on September 15, 1967. Together, they had one child. As James was serving in the U.S. Air Force, the family moved often and lived in Oklahoma City, OK; Birkenfeld and Wiesbaden in Germany; Columbus, MS; various cities within Salt Lake County in UT and later returned to Rexburg, ID after their kids were grown. She and James enjoyed 45 years of marriage before he passed in 2012. Following two consecutive shoulder replacement surgeries, she came to live with her eldest son, Scot, where she had spent the last 7 years.

Blanche loved animals of all kinds, though she was quite partial to cats and lovingly cared for many throughout the years. One of her favorite pastimes was crocheting afghans for family, for friends and for an organization that provided them to patients living with AIDS. Many of those blankets were lovingly crocheted while a cat played at her feet with the ball of yarn as it rolled with each movement of her knitting.

She loved Coca-Cola, Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline.

She loved to sing and could always be found taking part in her church choir or ward plays. She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout her life and enjoyed her time as a temple worker.

More than anything, she loved spending time with her family. One of the last statements she made was, “what a miracle it was to have been blessed with children.”

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Dee Scott and Darla Wesselman; her husband, James; and a great grandson; which we are sure must have provided a jubilant reunion upon her arrival.

She is survived by her children: Scot Scuderi; Noreen (William) Johnson; LaTreese (Phil) Butcher; Rodney (Pam) Scuderi; Christopher (Teinamarrie) Scuderi. Eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two more on the way.

Tremendous thanks to all the wonderful doctors, nurses and support staff at the University of Utah Hospital who cared for her in her final days.

Anyone who knew her seemed to instantly love her. She was an angel here on earth, and she has finally gone home. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten!

Services will be held at the Eckersell Funeral Home located at 101 west Main Street, Rigby, ID on Friday September 22, 2023 at 2:00 PM with viewing at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
