Brenda Kay Walters Ward passed away peacefully on December 17,2025, at home surrounded by her beloved family.

She was born in Saint Anthony, Idaho, on August 24, 1944, to William Albert Walters and Ida Marie Powell Walters. She never had the opportunity to meet her father, as he was deployed to Germany and was killed during the Battle of the Bulge on January 7, 1945. She had two older brothers, Jerry Lewis Walters and Donald Albert Walters. Her mom met and then married her stepfather, Vern Clair Lambert in 1952.

Brenda graduated from high school in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and attended business college in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Orion Marvin Ward on July 3, 1965. Their marriage was solemnized in the Rexburg, Idaho temple on April 24, 2010. They spent most of their married life in Saint Anthony, but also lived in Rocklin, California. When they moved back to Idaho, she worked for Max Gould Trucking for over 25 years.

They had two children, Heather Marie Ward, and Travis Vern Ward. Travis died on November 16, 2009. For the rest of her life, she missed him dearly with her whole heart.

Brenda was a beloved wife, daughter, mother and grandmother. She cherished each of her grandchildren and loved them individually and unconditionally.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather Grende, and her grandchildren, Jordan (Dakota) Grende, Jacey (Jacob Greenwood) Fausett, Remington Grende, and Cierra (Nash Mower) Grende.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, her husband and her son, Travis.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverview Ward Chapel, 507 W. 3rd N, St. Anthony. The family will receive friends that morning from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. also at the church. Burial will take place at a later date.
