Carol Jane McCormick, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully at Lily and Syringa, February 18, 2026. She was surrounded by her two children, Mike and Molly.

Carol ironically passed away on her birthday. Carol was born on February 18, 1940, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Glen and Anna Kearney. Carol was the third of four girls. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1958.

She married her high school sweetheart, Robert (Spike) McCormick, in 1958. They raised two children, a son and a daughter. Carol had many interests from boating, fishing, camping, hiking, rock hunting, and doting on her beloved grandchildren. Carol was a radio host and personality for KUPI. In her later years, she enjoyed volunteering for the Idaho Falls Police. Carol was an animal lover. There wasn’t an animal that crossed her path that she didn’t show love to. Carol was an exceptional grandmother to her grandchildren, who were so lucky to have her unwavering support, friendship and love. Carol was a friend to all, she always rooted for the underdog. She was a rule breaker and creator of many fun endeavors.

Carol is survived by her two children, Mike (Tina) McCormick of Idaho Falls, ID; and Molly Giacomazzo of Idaho Falls, ID; her grandchildren, Presley (Taylor) Siebenberg, Ryan (Lisa) McCormick, Robbie McCormick, Sariah McCormick and Amber Anderson; great-grandchildren, Lexie and Jaxson Anderson, and Korey and Kaidence McCormick; and many other family and friends who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Spike McCormick, her sisters, Marilyn Varela, Jeannie Casper, and Betty Kearney, and her grandchildren, Amber McCormick Hoopes and Adriano Michael Senna Giacomazzo.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho. A closed casket visitation for family and friends will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
