Darryl Eugene Peck, a cherished husband, father, son, and brother, passed peacefully on April 15, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family and friends.

Known for his welcoming nature, kind heart, infectious humor, and gift for storytelling, Darryl embraced life with unwavering passion and found true joy in supporting and uplifting those around him.

Darryl was born on May 23, 1978, in Pocatello, Idaho, to David Peck and Dorothy “Dottie” Laflin. He spent his childhood in Idaho Falls and Shelley, Idaho, where he built lasting memories. Shortly after his graduation from Shelley High School, Darryl enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service, he returned to Idaho Falls, where he raised his two sons, and built a successful construction business, highlighting his natural gift for woodworking. In 2014, he married Heidi Hulet in a beautiful ceremony in Maui, Hawaii, and together they created a loving home filled with vibrant memories and constant laughter.

Fueled by a lifelong passion for adventure, Darryl took to skiing at a young age and became a certified skiing instructor at Kelly Canyon. While he shared his love for the slopes with countless students, family and friends, his most fulfilling experience was teaching his two sons to ski.

With boundless energy and a zest for life, Darryl approached every moment “full throttle,” often blending thrill-seeking with a touch of mischief. Whether taking a spontaneous trip on his Harley, captaining a boat, riding (and occasionally wrecking) a snowmachine, or slowing down to enjoy pancakes at his Aunt Terry’s house, he was eager to make the most of each day.

Many of his favorite times were spent in the mountains with family and friends, whitewater rafting, instigating water fights, and gathering around the campfire. These moments often sparked new stories for him to retell. Celebrated for his practical jokes and quick wit, he had an unmatched ability to make others laugh-often at themselves-and brought joy to every gathering.

Darryl is survived by his loving wife, Heidi Peck; his sons, Colson and Carter Peck; his parents, David (Pam) Peck and Dottie (Stephen) Laflin; his siblings, Forrest (Melissa), Rachelle (Scott), and Danielle (Shane) Peck; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Ida Peck; and his cousin, Brandon Crist.

Graveside services with Military Honours will be performed by the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Team and Honour Guard.

In lieu of flowers, please join us for Darryl’s Celebration of Life from 12-3 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Freeman Park Shelter #1, 1290 Science Center Drive, Idaho Falls.
