David H. Burton passed away June 16, 2026, surrounded by his family. David was born July 14, 1954, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He is the son of Dee and Lila Burton.

David grew up with lots of energy and enthusiasm for whatever he was involved in. He was athletic and enjoyed outdoor activities, especially water and snow skiing.

David was patriotic and joined the United States Army at an early age and served for six years. He was stationed in Italy and Okinawa, Japan, as a communication-radio specialist.

After his service in the military, he established a career in the cable television industry. He saw multiple companies evolve into Sparklight. He was on the construction crew, being a line man, and climbing poles. He worked with plant maintenance, installation and customer relations. David was a people person, he could talk to anyone. This skill served him well. David was a hard worker with multiple skills. He also worked as a spa salesman, a taxi driver, an investigator for an attorney and worked at the 6-12 convenience store in Iona.

David was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting and being out in nature. He especially enjoyed sharing these activities with his Dad and his son, Spencer.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie; daughters, Trena (Matthew) Arritt, Leah Henry and Nikki Peña; son, Scott Peña; six grandchildren; and his sisters, Diane (Jim) Gibson and Julie (Spencer) Howard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Lila; and his son, Spencer, who are joyfully welcoming him home.
