Wilma DeAnn Hendricks, 83, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on August 22, 2025.

DeAnn was born on July 22, 1942, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Alma Daich Holmes and Nellie Rosetta Michaelson Holmes.

DeAnn and her sisters were the best of friends, and she spent her early years playing, riding bikes, and spending time with her dad in his welding shop.

She married Larry Joel Hendricks on August 22, 1959, and together they shared 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2020.

In those years, they raised four children, purchased their first home in 1984, and eventually adopted and raised their first two grandsons like their own.

During her life, DeAnn worked several jobs, ranging from housekeeping to being a seamstress for JCPenney and Dance Image. She also worked for U.S. Parachutes and Wyoming Woolens. She was a dedicated Mother and Wife who did anything she needed to make sure her family was taken care of.

She was a talented Artist with a passion for several mediums. DeAnn was known for her artistry in porcelain doll making, sculpting, ceramics, Raku, sewing, and canvas painting, with a specialty in landscape scenery.

She was a member of the Idaho Falls Art Guild and the Timeless Treasure Doll Club, where she would enter her work into art shows and art galleries, often coming home with a first-place ribbon!

DeAnn loved her children and possibly loved her grandchildren even more. She worked hard, and she taught her children and grandchildren how to do the same. She used to say, “You’ve got two good hands and two good feet,” anytime we needed a reminder that we were capable of doing our chores.

She shared her love for the arts with her children and grandchildren and even passed down some of her talent.

All of her grandchildren loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Hendricks because they could always count on building something, picking fruit from the trees and garden, painting, baking cookies, and a never-ending supply of snacks from all of Grandpa’s grocery store trips.

DeAnn is survived by her grandchildren: Cory (Vic) Rainey, Russel Hendricks, Jean Hendricks, Scott Boyington, Andrew (Erin) Boyington, Kenny Mitchell, Audrey (David) Hart, Jessica Hendricks, Maxine (Courtney) Everett, Ian (Lindsey) Everett, Auna (Allen) Haroldsen, and all of her great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Nellie Holmes; her beloved husband, Larry Hendricks; her daughter, Myrna Mitchell; her sisters, June Wood and Doris Hone; and her brother, Dale Holmes.

A celebration of life for DeAnn will be held at a later date for close family and friends.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Hospice nurses and caregivers who helped her and brought her comfort over the last year. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her fun sense of humor and great laugh, and her unwavering love, strength, and resilience.

Cremation is under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com.
