Obituary
Diane Treasure
November 3rd, 1941 - May 15th, 2026
Our beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother, Diane Gleed Treasure, passed away peacefully May 15, 2026, at the age of 84. She was surrounded by her adoring husband, Barry, and all five of her children.
Diane was a bright ray of sunshine in this world. She was born in Malad, Idaho, on November 3, 1941, to Guy and Nellie Gleed. She had an ideal childhood, growing up in a loving family with wonderful siblings and many friends in her small town. She was in student government, played drums and french horn in the band, and was a cheerleader at Malad High School.
Diane married her high school sweetheart, Barry Treasure, from Downey, on September 28, 1960, in Malad, Idaho. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on February 11, 1964. They lived in Pocatello, Idaho; Provo, Utah; and Blackfoot, Idaho, before making their permanent home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where they lived for the last 52 years. Together, Barry and Diane sacrificed to start and build Treasure Dental Lab.
They welcomed and lovingly raised five children: Jacqueline, Sherlyn, Kristine, John Barry, and Jennifer. Family was everything to Diane. She was a loving mom, a great cook, and she created a beautiful home, a refuge, where all were welcome. She loved being together with family at parties, reunions, or any occasion. She especially loved dancing at her grandchildren’s weddings to the song “Treasure.”
She had a deep faith and abiding testimony in her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings, serving as President of the Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women’s organizations. She especially loved serving in the Special Needs Primary. One of their cherished callings was serving as temple workers in the Idaho Falls Temple for several years. She and Barry served three missions for the church in Hong Kong, Beijing, China, and again in Hong Kong. Those were amazing experiences and she treasured the memories, places, and friends they met while serving in Asia. She has friends all over the world and was a true example of service and Christ-like love.
Diane also served on the Festival of Trees Board, in the PTA, Idaho Falls Music Club and helped with Distinguished Young Women. She and Barry were very active with American Indian Services and helped sponsor several golf tournaments. They also helped to set up dental clinics in Mexico and Guatemala. She worked as a Reading Tutor at Dora Erickson.
Diane loved her family, music, flowers, friends, and golf. She also loved traveling the world, shopping, Cherry Pepsi, and chocolate. Most of all, she loved people! She will be deeply missed.
Diane is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Barry Treasure; her five children: Jacque (Darren) Josephson, Sheri (Sid) Hamberlin, Kris (Brad) Oswald, John (Molly) Treasure, all of Idaho Falls, and her youngest, Jenni (Russ) Alexander of Imperial, California; 22 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Ron Treasure and Terry Broman, and sisters-in-law, Janette Dallinga and Roxie Treasure.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie and Guy Gleed; her siblings, Joyce and Bruce Knight, Jay and Neola Gleed, Darl and Jenna Lee Gleed, Blair and Diane Gleed, and Joan Broman; and her in-laws, Mattie and John Treasure, and their children, Faye and Dick Jones, Marlyn and Devere Barnes, Monte and Donna Treasure, Tad Treasure, and Bob Treasure.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Idaho Falls Stake Center, 1155 1st Street. Ammon Road, and again on Friday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
