Douglas Dean Justesen, 49, of Ammon, passed away unexpectedly from respiratory failure on February 16, 2025, at his home.

Doug was born September 2, 1975, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Daniel V. Justesen and Verda Nell Helm Justesen. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School.

On June 17, 1995, he married Tara Lin Thomas in Idaho Falls. In 2003, Doug followed his dream of opening a cabinet shop in Logan, Utah, with his brother for 13 years. Later, he started driving truck like his dad with DEKA Battery out of Salt Lake City for five years until he decided to be home more with his family and started working as a SMC shipping coordinator for Idaho National Laboratory. He and Tara were blessed with two children, Dylan and Shyan. Doug and Tara were together for 28 years. Doug was engaged to Myndee Wells at the time of his passing.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling, and truck driving. He loved creating things with his 3D printer and sharing his creations with others.

Doug is survived by his son, Dylan (Phoebe) Justesen of Rexburg, ID; daughter, Shyan (Jamie) Hansen of Idaho Falls, ID; mother, Verda Justesen of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Eric (Angela) Justesen of Logan, UT; sister, Amy (Greg) Andrus of Idaho Falls, ID; fiancé, Myndee Wells of Chubbuck, ID; 2 grandchildren, and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Justesen, and brother, Corey Dan Justesen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services, both visitations at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
