Dustin “Dusty” Ridges Perry, 46, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, in Idaho Falls, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship, strength, and deep-rooted family traditions.

Born August 12, 1978, Dusty was a devoted father, a skilled craftsman, and a man who found peace and purpose in the natural world. He built a life of meaning with his hands – creating custom furniture and working as a master finish carpenter. He also served with courage and commitment as a wildland firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service, helping protect the very landscapes he loved.

Dusty’s greatest pride was his two sons, Max and Eli Perry, who followed in his footsteps to become talented craftsmen and carpenters themselves. His legacy lives on not just in the work he created, but in the lives of the boys he raised with care, knowledge, and quiet determination.

He grew up hunting and fishing alongside his father, Kevin Perry, and his grandfather, Ray Perry. Some of his most cherished memories were made on trips that included all four generations of Perry men – a tradition of connection, respect for nature, and family that shaped Dusty’s life.

He will be remembered for his steady hands, his love of the outdoors, and the way he lived with purpose and humility. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Dusty would remind us all not to take things too seriously, and if there is music playing, to get up and dance.

Dusty is survived by his two sons, Max Perry and Eli Perry of Idaho Falls ID; father and stepmom, Kevin and Kelly Perry of Bay City, TX; sister, Mistee Perry, and his nieces Finlee O’Leary and Knoxlee Jo Perry of Post Falls, ID; sister and brother-in-law, Codee and Cameron Minor and niece Goldie Minor of Bliss, ID; sister and brother-in-law, Morgan and Ben Zahradnik of Louise, TX; grandparents Keith and Jeanne Baldwin of Iona, ID; and grandmother Jodee Johnston of Sheridan, WY.

Dusty is preceded in death by his mom, Lindee Black; grandfather, Ray Perry; grandfather, Richard (Dick) Johnston; and grandparents Dena and William (Bill) Stephens.

A private celebration of life will be held with family and close friends at a later date. Cremation is under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com.
