James Lee Jones Jr., age 75, passed away on April 23, 2025, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was born on October 20, 1949, in Martinsville, Virginia.
James was a brilliant and multifaceted individual with a keen intellect. A scientist and mathematician by profession, he was a proud alumnus of MIT and a long-standing member of Mensa. His intellectual curiosity extended beyond his professional life to encompass a wide range of passions. He was a talented percussionist, finding rhythm and expression through music. Photography allowed him to capture the beauty he saw in the world, while his collections of coins and rocks reflected a fascination with history and the natural world.
James is survived by his five sisters, his daughter, and his granddaughter.
