Janet Lou Osborne Petersen

Janet Lou Osborne Petersen passed away peacefully September 21, 2025. She was born in Rexburg Idaho to loving parents, Steve and Juanita Osborne. She was raised in Ashton, Idaho, and was the youngest of 7 children.

She married James Petersen, later divorced. They are the parents of Audrey (Mike), Cliff (Lori), Arthur (Rebecca), Carmie (Craig), Jacob (Konae) and Jared (Launi).

Janet recently celebrated her 80th birthday. She had a lifetime of illness and health problems, but was tough and determined to the end. She loved music, teaching, Scrabble and had a great sense of humor. She taught school in Illinois, Idaho and Utah and many piano lessons. She served faithfully in many callings over the years, mostly in music. She is loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Wanda, Pete, Glenda, Gerald, Leo and grandchildren Patricia & Rebecca Louder and Timothy Arthur Petersen. She is survived by her brother Lee and all her children.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 26th at 9 o’clock with the funeral to follow at 10 o’clock at the Clarkston Chapel, 25 East 100 South, Clarkston, Utah. Interment will be at the Pineview Cemetery in Ashton, Idaho. Online condolences at rasmussenmortuary.com.
