Jeanene B. Hensley
March 20th, 1943 - March 30th, 2026
Jeanene Billie Hensley, 83 of Rexburg, Idaho, left this earth peacefully and sweetly at her home on March 30, 2026. Jeanene was born March 20, 1943, in Pocatello, Idaho, to William and Nina Mae Bowen Firth.
She was the oldest of four children. She attended Burton school and at one time her schoolteacher needed a place to live and ended up living on the family farm with her family, which she enjoyed very much. Spending many happy years growing up in the area enjoying the fun times with her Bowen and Thomason cousins and her association with her peers at Madison High School.
She married Nolan Clyde Muir in 1961, they had four children, Tangalene, Rodney, Tina and Trina. Jeanene and Nolan divorced in 1984.
She spent many years in the Rexburg area, working in stores, such as Albertson’s, Kmart, IGA, and Cal Ranch. She enjoyed getting to know the many local residents throughout the years.
Jeanene enjoyed their family time spent in Island Park and cherished the many friendships that formed by visiting and staying during the summers and winters while snowmobiling and boating. These were always a highlight in her life. She loved being on a square dance team and on a bowling league, spending many happy years doing these things with cherished friends. Jeanene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and her favorite calling was being a Primary Teacher.
She loved raising her family and later met and married Brent Russell Hensley. She supported him during his many years of long-haul truck driving.
Jeanene could be found enjoying time with her family. Nothing gave her more joy and peace than seeing each and every grandchild born. Jeanene touched many lives through her fun spirit that she carried, always glad to meet up with family and friends for many special events throughout her life.
Jeanene is survived by her loving husband, Brent Hensley, and children, Tangalene (Rolf) Walpole of Mapleton, Utah, Rodney Nolan Muir of Las Vegas, Nevada, Tina Mae Garner of Ammon, Idaho, and Trina (Jenn) Ziebarth of Ammon, Idaho, as well as 31 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Earlene Mickelsen and a brother, Lamont Firth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Kenneth, and grandson, Brennan Walpole.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, April 7, at the Harvest Heights LDS Chapel, 612 South Hidden Valley, Rexburg. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am at the church prior to services.
