Obituary
John Robert Seedall
December 2nd, 1934 - October 21st, 2026
John Robert Seedall, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 21, 2026, at MorningStar Assisted Living.
John was born in Idaho Falls on December 2, 1934, the youngest child of John Lawrence Seedall and Deon Smith Seedall. He was raised on their small farm on Crowley Road (45th East), just North of the Ririe Highway and he lived there his entire life. It was always the place he called home.
He attended schools in Ucon and Ammon, and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1952.
He always had some great stories of his school days and the adventures with his closest friends Ray Lott and Gary Holtom. He was also involved in musical theater in school and played the trumpet.
He loved sports, both playing and watching. He played baseball and football, but his first love was always basketball. Whether as a player, watching his boys play, or watching college or NBA games he completely loved the game. A die hard Utah Jazz fan, he is one of the longest tenured season ticket holders of the Jazz, having held his tickets since 1988.
It was during his high school years that he first met Marjorie Suitter. On July 6, 1956, they were married in the Idaho Falls LDS temple and began their life together in the family home on Crowley Road. Their son Scott was born in 1966, and Shawn followed in 1975.
Over their 64 years together, John and Marjorie worked side by side as they built their farm and their family until Marjorie passed away in 2020. Her passing left a hole that could never be filled, but he continued to do what he loved, which was to run the farm and take care of his family. Even as his health began to fail, he was still asking every day about what was going on at the farm and giving instructions on things he would like to have done.
He is survived by his sister, Leabeth Muse of Salt Lake City, Utah; his sons, Scott (Lauralie) Seedall and Shawn (Janelle) Seedall; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2026, Wood Funeral Home East, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Thursday, from 6:30-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
