Joyce Larie Lundquist Polson was 88 years old when she passed away, surrounded by family; on December 1, 2025. Joyce was born on May 24, 1937, to Frank Royal Lundquist and Edith Marie Moses. She was the ninth of ten children. She spent most of her growing up years on the homestead her grandparents started in Labelle. During her senior year of high school, she met Neil Polson, who had recently returned home from the Navy. They were married on April 18, 1956, moved to Labelle and were blessed with three children, Mark, JoAnn, and Doug. They built a small red-brick home, which Joyce still lived in.

Joyce was always busy. She loved growing things, and her and Neil owned Queen of Hearts Garden Shop for many years. After they sold that business, she continued growing flowers and would start 400 tomato plants each spring to share with neighbors. Joyce also had a passion for cooking. She worked for Broulims’ and was regional manager over their multiple Bakery/Delis for years. After she retired, you couldn’t stop by her house without being welcomed in and offered some homemade goodie or apple pie. She loved her family and the highlight of her summer was always the Lundquist Reunion and spending time with them.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in every calling imaginable. Some of her favorites were in Young Women’s, especially Girl’s Camp, Relief Society, and planning activities for the ward. Joyce loved to throw a party. She couldn’t imagine why you’d want to sit at home when you could be socializing with good friends and eating good food. But definitely her greatest joy came from cheering on her grandkids, rarely missing an event they were in or a reason to celebrate them.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Neil, and many close family members including brothers, sisters, and so many friends she loved and missed. She is survived by her children Mark (Becky), JoAnn Dayley (Dave) and Doug (Ann) all of Rigby. She also has eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. We’d try to count all the nieces and nephews who love “Aunt Joyce” to the moon and back, but let’s be honest, no one can count that high. She will be deeply missed, but the Polson Family is so grateful for the love they have received from her over the years.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, at 11:00 a.m. at the Labelle LDS chapel, with a viewing Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services on Monday. Burial will follow at the Annis cemetery.
