Julie Allison

Julie Kay Allison, 62, passed away on April 25, 2024, in Idaho Falls of natural causes.

Julie was born on August 23, 1961, in Idaho Falls to Jimmie and Sally Thompson Allison, joining older brother Jimmie. Two brothers, David and Brett, and a sister, Paige, completed the young family.

Julie graduated from North Fremont High School in 1979. She also graduated from Ricks College (BYU-Idaho) and Brigham Young University.

Julied enjoyed and shined in sports, beginning with high school basketball. She was chosen for the All-Star district team in 1979. She also played women’s summer league softball and was a life guard and swimming instructor in Ashton.

She was a “trail blazer” for women training in fire departments and worked and taught for the Seattle Fire Department for 26+ years. She was on the high ladder and diving teams. She was also on the FEMA team and served after the 1993 earthquake in Los Angeles, California.

Julie is survived by her mother, Sally; siblings, Jimmie (Carma), David (Kathy), Paige (Rob); sister-in-law, Nan; and many nieces and nephews who hold a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Brett; and grandparents, Jim and Sarah Allison. Two special dogs filled her time, Sam and Tate.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main Street, in Ashton. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Interment will be in the Pineview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please consider the Center for Hope Organization in Idaho Falls where Julie served, making strong friendships.
