Kevin Moss

May 18th, 1969 - February 10th, 2024

On Saturday, February 10, 2024 my best friend and eternal companion, Kevin L Moss, who resided on earth in Rexburg, Idaho, was called home to be with those who have previously passed through the veil including his son, parents, sister, brother and father-in-law. There is no medical explanation for his strong healthy heart to have stopped, so we will have to wait for the heavenly explanation of his early departure from us.

Kevin was born May 18, 1969, to Mont & Shirley Moss in Holladay, Utah. He graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1987 and served an honorable mission in Louisville, Kentucky. After his mission, he attended the University of Utah where he continues to be a forever Ute.

On August 27, 1992 Kevin married his eternal companion, Melissa Ruud, from Ririe, Idaho, in the Salt Lake Temple. Kevin and Melissa were blessed with 3 beautiful red-headed children, Hunter, Madison & Jordyn. While Hunter preceded Kevin in death on earth, we know they had a sweet reunion when Kevin ascended to his new eternal home.

In 2001 Kevin’s small family ventured north from West Jordan, Utah to Rexburg, Idaho to live closer to his beloved in-laws, Don & Janet Ruud, and to start a new career. In Salt Lake Kevin sold electrical supplies and he took this knowledge and fun personality to work at AMET Inc. Kevin was a Purchasing Agent and worked at this same job until his passing. He was a dedicated employee who loved his job and the people he worked with.

Kevin always had a smile on his face, a sparkle in his beautiful blue eyes with a twinkle of mischief and a kind word for anyone who spoke to him and a dumb dad joke. He inherited from his mother the gift of gab to share meaningful conversations and to put others at ease. Anyone who met Kevin instantly became his friend with his warm and charming personality.

Kevin was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and held many different callings including Young Men’s President, Counselor in the Bishopric, Sunday School Teacher and Ward Clerk but his favorite calling was being in the nursery. His love was always with the youth. With his infectious laugh and mischievous activities, the youth he served will always remember him and hopefully follow his example. Kevin loved coaching his girls in softball and became a beloved coach to many, many girls. He was the President of MGSA for 8 years, for the love of the game.

Kevin loved to hunt pheasants and fish with his family but especially his dad. Those trips were memories he cherished as his beloved mother and father passed away.

Kevin selflessly showed his immense love to his entire family through both word and deed. The love he freely shared with Melissa, his girls and his adored grandchildren should be an example to all those he has left behind. He will be missed and the grief we all feel is immeasurable because of his unexpected departure. Kevin left behind his wife of 31 years Melissa, his daughters and their eternal companions Madison & Joseph Keene and Jordyn & Jory Brower, his 5 beautiful grandchildren Payton, Paisley, Kennedy, Parker and Axel, Mother-in-Law Janet Ruud, brothers Troy and Mike Moss, sister Heidi and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The loss of his grandchildren’s “papa” will be great as he was their loving playmate.
