Laura Reiley
February 22nd, 1937 - September 24th, 2025
Laura Hogan Reiley passed away on September 24, 2025, at the age of 88, under the tender care of Homestead Home Health & Hospice.
Laura was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on February 22, 1937, to Frank and Ruby Rammell Hogan. The youngest of three children, she grew up in Tetonia, Idaho, where her father owned a mechanic shop, and her mother worked at the local cafe. Laura graduated from Teton High School in 1956.
While at THS, Laura met and fell in love with Royce Reiley, a fellow Teton Valley native. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on December 14, 1956, and shared over 66 years of marriage. They were blessed with two children, Steve and Jeff.
Laura was known for her strong work ethic and generous spirit. Throughout her life she held various jobs, including positions at the Tetonia Post Office and the Treasure’s Office at the Teton County Courthouse. After retiring, she volunteered weekly at the Teton Valley Museum, a position that she loved; she treasured sharing the history of her community. Laura was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and faithfully served in various Church callings. She was a dedicated supporter of the Scouting program, serving as a Cub Scout leader for many years.
Laura took great pride in her cooking and baking. Her well-loved huckleberry dessert often drew the highest bids at local fundraising auctions. She was an avid huckleberry picker. Once proudly returning home with more than five gallons that she had gathered herself.
Laura devoted many hours supporting her family and friends, attending countless ball games, plays, recitals, ceremonies, graduations, and other events. She also had a gift for caring for others, spending much of her time serving and supporting the elderly with her kindness, comfort and encouragement.
Laura is survived by her two children, Steve and Jeff (Marilyn); three grandsons, Jaxon (Alex), Austin (Ashlee), and Carson (Cambrie); and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ruby Hogan; her siblings, Ralph Hogan and Lanora Row; and her beloved husband, Royce.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, at the Tetonia Chapel. The family will receive friends that morning from 10:00–10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at the Cache-Clawson Cemetery in Tetonia, Idaho.
